Georgia 4-H Dean Award Projects


One of the highest awards Georgia 4-H Members can earn is the 4-H Dean Award. Competition for the Dean Awards is open to all Senior 4-H members regardless of their prior participation or winning status in other projects.  Dean Award participants will submit a cummulative (4-H career) portfolio and participate in an interview session. The scoring criteria and guidelines for portfolio submission can be found in the

2016 4-H Deans Awards Interview Final Times Schedule

Portfolios should be postmarked by Friday, May 27, 2016. 4-H’ers participating in Dean Awards need to be registered in Event Registration by Friday, May 27th.

Interviews will be held during State 4-H Council on Friday, June 24, 2016. An interview schedule will be sent to counties following portfolio submissions. The schedule will also be posted online.

An award will be presented in each of the following five areas:
. Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
. Citizenship
. William "Bill" Edwards 4-H Dean Award for Communications and the Arts
. Family and Consumer Sciences
. James Harris 4-H Dean Award for Leadership

Awards will include the following:
. Olympic Type Medallion
. Master 4 H'er Status
. A $500 scholarship
. Recognition on 4 H Day at the Capitol
