Fantastic 4-H'er: Our current Fantastic 4-Her is Amber Phillips. Amber is a 12th grade Senior 4-H’er from Wilcox County. Her main project areas are Performing Arts General, Performing Arts Vocal and Dog Care and Training. Amber’s 4-H highlights include attending various camps, attending Project Achievement -both as a 4-H’er and as a Teen leader, performing and competing at the Georgia National Fair, and competing in the 4-H Chicken Barbecue Contest. Amber says that “4-H has allowed me to obtain knowledge on how to present myself during interviews which led me to get a job that I had been interested in. I have also gained the confidence to speak in front of an audience but more importantly, my peers.” Amber wishes that other people “could know the joy of meeting new people from all over the state and keeping these people close to your heart even if you only see each other a couple of times a year! 4-H friends will always be 4-H friends. It’s great to be part of such an organization that truly puts “youth first” in everything that is done!” Amber plans to attend Valdosta State University this fall and major in Deaf Education.
