Fantastic 4-H'er: Our current Fantastic 4-H”er is Grace Whipple from Henry County . Grace is a recent graduate of Luella High School. Grace is currently serving as a camp counselor at Rock Eagle 4-H Center where she teaches Herpetology. Her main project areas have included Performing Arts, Public Speaking, and History. Grace created and organized a community service project called “Operation Grandpa that delivered over 897 boxes and received a District Community Service Award. Her 4-H highlights include serving as a 4-H Global Ambassador to Puerto Rico in 2009, placing second in the Dean’s Award Competition in Citizenship, and receiving second place at State Congress last year. Grace says that “4-H has helped me with organization by keeping records, working with a calendar and planning with the future in mind. I love to share my passion for 4-H with our younger 4-H’ers. I want them to discover the magic of 4-H by staying involved.” Grace wishes others knew that “4-H is more than just giving a demonstration. It is about life experiences that prepare you for the future. Meeting new people, making lifelong friends and working hard to succeed are also parts of 4-H.” This fall, Grace plans to attend Gordon College to pursue a degree in Agricultural Communications or Public Relations while volunteering with 4-H in her county.
