Fantastic 4-H'er: Fifteen year old 4-H‘er, Juawn Jackson is from Bibb County. Juawn is a ninth grade Senior 4-H’er at Westside High School. His main 4-H projects have included Project Achievement, International, Entomology, and Communications. Juawn’s 4-H highlights include receiving the Junior 4-H’er of the Year Award for his county and being chosen to lead the 4-H pledge at District Project Achievement which let him know that “he belonged on that stage”. According to his application, “While in 4-H, I have developed numerous leadership skills and abilities. Thanks to 4-H, I can now stand up in front of a crowd and be productive,” and “The Walk Georgia program has really given me an energy boost. By participating in Walk Georgia I have become physically active and become more aware of my health.“ When asked what he wished others knew about 4-H, Jackson replied “I wish others would know that 4-H is an outstanding program that I am proud to say has made me into the person that I am today. 4-H allows you to be yourself, without being judged by your race, gender, interests, or personality.” After completion of high school, Juawn plans to attend Morehouse College to major in Political Science.
