Fantastic 4-H'er: This week’s Fantastic 4-Her is Kate Josey. Kate is a 10th grade senior 4-H’er from Franklin County. Her main project areas are Forestry, Consumer Judging, Livestock Judging, Lamb Judging, and Cattle Judging. Kate’s 4-H highlights include when she won grand champion with commercial heifer at her County Show, winning division champion with her heifer at the GA National Fair, winning showmanship at GA National lamb show, and first place in Project Achievement. Kate is also president of her High School 4-H Club. Kate says that “being in 4-H has provided me with many opportunities to open my heart to the community. It has taught me that giving some of my time to help others is important.” Her favorite memory in 4-H is the first year she showed lambs, because she won first place in showmanship at the Georgia National lamb show with her lamb, Patsy. Kate wishes that other people knew “that 4-H is a wonderful club to be involved in because there is an unlimited amount of activities you can do in it. It doesn't matter what you are interested in, there is something you will like doing in 4-H.” After high school, Kate plans to attend college and become an RN.
