Fantastic 4-H'er: This week’s Fantastic 4-H’er is Mary Allison Lathem. Mary is a 9th grade 4-H’er from Newton County. Her main project areas are Performing Arts – Vocal and Leadership in Action,. Mary’s 4-H highlights include Clovers & Company, Northwest Junior 4-H Board of Directors, Technology Leadership Team, County Council Junior Chairman, Teen Leader at Cloverleaf Camp, and leader of the Recycling Project for Relay for Life. Mary says that “I have enjoyed all aspect of 4-H. the friends that I have made in 4-H will be for life, “ and “ In 4-H I have come to appreciate the gifts and talents of others and I have learned the value of true friendship. The leaders have supported me and have inspired me to help others and share my talent with others.” Mary’s favorite 4-H memory thus far occurred last summer with Clovers & Co. on their trip to perform in Texas. “…The Texas officers taught us the two step. That was so fun! I enjoy meeting 4-H’ers from around the country. After high school, Mary plans to attend a college with a good music and science program.
