Fantastic 4-H'er: Sixteen year old 4-H‘er, Matthew Daniel is from Chattooga County. Matthew is as eleventh grade Senior 4-H’er at Chattooga High School. His main 4-H projects have included History, General Recreation, Cotton Boll and Consumer Jamboree, Poultry Judging, MilkMake and Leadership Sigma Lambda Chi Club. Matthew’s 4-H highlights include winning District and attending State 4-H Congress in the History Project, holding County Council offices, earning the Senior Leadership Award, and being selected as an OMK Ambassador and as a Georgia Youth Summit Delegate. According to his application, “Being involved in 4-H has instilled in me a drive and determination to set goals and achieve them. My public speaking skills have improved dramatically from being involved in Project Achievement in giving my speech for my demonstration. I now have the ability to create new and fresh ideas.” Daniel wishes others knew that 4-H “…is so much more than Agriculture of showing sheep. It opens so many doors in your life. The memories and friends you will make last you a lifetime. 4-H is also very, very fun with all the activities and events that are going on. You will never be bored with 4-H.“ After completion of high school, Matthew plans to attend UGA and Major in Extension at the College of CAES.
