Fantastic 4-H'er:

emblem Rachel Grimsley

This week’s Fantastic 4-Her is Rachel Grimsley.  Rachel is a 9th grade 4-Her from Seminole County.  Rachel’s main project area is Performing Arts Vocal. Her 4-H highlights include winning Performing Arts Vocal at Junior Project Achievement and being selected to be a member of Georgia 4-H’s Performing Arts group Clovers and Company.  Rachel says that “4-H has allowed me to see a more organized type of competition. I am used to competing but with the additional task of preparing a portfolio, 4-H has encouraged me to become more organized.” Her favorite memory in 4-H was the first time she attended Project Achievement at Rock Eagle. “We had so much fun and watching all the senior 4-H officers doing the belly slides was awesome.  I left there ready to run for office!” Rachel wishes others knew “what 4-H really involves. 4-H isn’t lame; I wish they could take a tour of Rock Eagle during Project Achievement of camp to feel the energy that is going on all around. I wish they were more educated on 4-H and knew that it was so much more than ' pig or horse show.' ” Rachel is currently serving as Miss Atlanta’s Outstanding Teen and will compete in Miss Teen Georgia this summer.  After high school, Rachel wants to attend college to pursue a degree in performing arts. Congratulations to this week’s Fantastic 4-Her, Rachel Grimsley from Seminole County! To read more, visit:  http://www.georgia4h.org/fantastic4her/default.htm .
