Fantastic 4-H'er: Sixteen year old 4-H‘er Tyler Edgeman is from Walker County. Tyler is a tenth grade Senior 4-H’er at Lafayette High School. His main 4-H projects have included 2008-2009 Sr. Executive Officer on County 4-H Council, Leadership in Action, State 4-H Congress and 4-H Project Achievement, BB Team, Poultry Judging, Starting the first ever Cloverbud program in his county, and many more. Among his 4-H highlights are placing second at Project Achievement and advancing to State 4-H Congress, running for Senior 4-H District Board, and being elected as a Senior county officer by his peers. According to his application, 4-H “strengthened my entire ‘thought process’. I have developed the self control to think things through, and to envision the results. I am constantly thinking what I can do to make 4-H better for my community. ,” and “Learn by doing! The opportunities are endless in 4-H. I heave learned to use my hands along with my head to create a program new to our county. I feel a sense of pride ever time one of my Cloverbuds opens up of competes.” Edgeman wishes others knew “The incredible values learned through 4-H, the endless opportunities, the chance to learn who you are, what you can become and the confidence and ability to achieve your dreams. 4-H has completely changed my life and I will forever be grateful.” Tyler plans to attend UGA and earn a degree in Veterinary Science.
