Fantastic 4-H'er: Thirteen year old 4-H‘er Zack Smagur is from Habersham County. Zack is an eighth grade Junior 4-H’er at North Habersham Middle School . His main 4-H projects have included Performing Arts General, using Water Wisely, Forestry Judging, Cotton Boll and Consumer Jamboree, Poultry Judging and Archery Team. Among his 4-H highlights are serving on the Northeast District Junior 4-H Board of Directors, placing first in Project Achievement in the Performing Arts General and Using Water Wisely Projects, and serving as a Teen Leader at Cloverleaf Camp. According to his application, 4-H “has helped me to be smarter in many ways. I once did not care about school or homework but 4-H has made me become a better person. I now try my hardest in school and anything else that I commit to,” and “At first, I never noticed nor appreciate the little things in life. After I joined 4-H, I realized that sometimes you just have to take a step back and realize all the fortunate things around you. I’ve become more appreciative of people helping me out and my many blessings.” Zack wishes others knew “how fun and educational 4-H is. It’s a club for everybody, and there are so many things you can do.” Zack plans to be a Broadway star one day! Congratulations to Zack Smagur from Walker County, this week’s Fantastic 4-H’er!
