Fantastic 4-H'er:

emblem Katie Comer

Seventeen year old high school Senior, Katie Comer, mastered in 4-H this past summer in the 4-H Human Development Project.  An active Carroll County 4-H’er, Comer has served in many offices including 2007-2008 State 4-H President as well as President of the Northwest Senior and Junior District 4-H Boards of Directors. Katie was also a member of the 2008 Georgia 4-H Puerto Rico Exchange program. According to her application, “I feel as thought being a part of Georgia 4-H has been a huge learning experience for myself.  I have learned so much about my environment, college, and leadership through the 4-H program. Sometimes I feel like there is actually a section of my brain that is devoted to 4-H.”   When asked what she wished others knew about 4-H, Comer replied, “That 4-H was not just an ordinary club, but that the Georgia 4-H program is one of the BEST life-changing and motivational programs in the world.  Georgia 4-H has so much to offer youth and adults in every aspect.  It is truly the only program that I am a part of that has left a lasting impact on my determination, leadership and life.”  Katie plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall of 2009 and pursue a degree in Agricultural Communications. Congratulations to Katie Comer from Carroll County, this week’s Fantastic 4-H’er!  To read more, visit:  http://www.georgia4h.org/fantastic4her/default.htm
