GCA 4-H Enrollment for 2011-12 School Year

Parents and/or guardians may enroll GCA students as Georgia 4-Hers using the enrollment link below. Enrollment is for the current school year only. If you wish to re-enroll a child that was previously enrolled in the 2009-2010 or 2010-2011 school years, please log in to your account and follow the prompts.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE BELOW - we are no longer accepting applications.

Age Minimum:  9 years old as of January 1, 2011

How Do I Apply?  Write 150 words (maximum) on “What do you think the characteristics of a leader are and tell us why you want to serve as a GCA 4-H Officer?”  This will be posted on the georgia4h.org/gca website for others to read and then voting will occur.

Deadline:  Application deadline is October 10, 2011(extended to 10-13-11)

Voting instructions will be given at the October meeting and voting will end Tuesday, November 8th. 

All officers will be expected to attend GCA Day at Rock Eagle on December 2nd, 2011 for training and a meeting. 

Officer Positions & Descriptions

President:

  • Preside at all meetings.  We will follow a club meeting format.
  • Be an active part of your local 4-H program.
  • Report on your 4-H activities to the class.

Vice-President:

  • Present a thought for the day at each meeting.
  • Preside at meetings in absence of the President.
  • Be an active part of your local 4-H program.
  • Report on your 4-H activities to the class.
  • Close the meeting with the 4-H pledge.

Secretary:

  • Keep the minutes for all club meetings and read them when called for by the President.
  • Assist 4-H Leader in recording student attendance (in chat box).
  • Inform the President if you will be absent and have another club member read your minutes and take minutes for you.
  • Be an active part of your local 4-H program.
  • Report on your 4-H activities to the class.

 Reporter:

  • Submit a monthly article for the Peach Buzz about 4-H meetings and activities
  • Be an active part of your local 4-H program.
  • Report on your 4-H activities to the class.

Service Learning Officer:

  • Record names of 4-H’ers who donate pop tabs to their local county offices.
  • Remind GCA students of other community service projects GCA is doing.
  • Be an active part of your local 4-H program.
  • Report on your 4-H activities to the class.

Health Officer:

    • Present a monthly fact related to healthy living.
    • Be an active part of your local 4-H program.
    • Report on your 4-H activities to the class.
