Labo Summer Outbound Students Had A Great Time In Japan

There is no better way to learn about life in a foreign country than by living with a host family. This year six Georgia 4-H'ers enjoyed a side of Japan that few tourists ever see.

While in Japan, last year's students ate new foods, went to camp and learned how to properly sort your trash at a Japanese fast food restaurant. The six students represented Georgia well and came back with lots of photos and unforgettable experiences.

Since 1972, thousands of teenagers have spent a month living as an exchange student in Japan, and they all returned home with a greater understanding of themselves and their place in our increasingly global society.

Spending a month in Japan is truly a life changing experience. Participants live with a Labo family and experience a world tourists never see. They share everyday life and activities and meet relatives and friends from the community.

The program runs from mid-July to mid-August and is open to 4-H’ers between the ages of 12 to 18.

This is a truly amazing opportunity for students who are serious about learning the Japanese language. Link to Labo Website with additional information:
