Camp Counselors & State 4-H Council.

Realizing that a number of Camp Counselors have just graduated high school and are eligible to participate in State 4-H Council as delegates, the following guidelines are in place for counselors. Please read these carefully and consult Jenny Jordan with questions.

Fulltime Delegate for Council Counselors who would be eligible for Council as a fulltime delegate may register through the county as a county delegate for the weekend. Counselors will move out of counselor cabins into the cabins with the county, will be under the county supervision and will be full participants in State 4-H Council. At the close of Council on Sunday, these delegates will return to "counselor status" and move back into counselor cabins. During Council, these delegates can not perform any counselor duties.

State 4-H Officers who are counselors are required to participate as listed above. He/She will move in with State officer group and be under the supervision of the state officer leaders.

Part-Time Participation Granted to Counselors who do not opt for the above options. In several cases, counselors may have a roll in Council as an honoree but may not want to attend the entire weekend as a delegate. In the following cases, partial participation is granted. The participation is for the activity indicated only and, in many cases, does not require registration or an additional fee.

4-H Ambassadors and Leadership in Action District Winner Honorees may attend the assembly in which they are recognized even if they are not Council delegates. He/She would need to attend the assembly only.

Outgoing District Officers may attend the District assembly Friday evening if they are not a Council delegate but may only attend that assembly

Clovers & Company Cast members may participate as other nondelegates do for the show. Counselor cast members will attend practice and perform in the Saturday evening program only.

Master 4-H Club members who are Counselors are encouraged to participated in Master 4H Day activities including the. Business Meeting and the Banquet. Tickets must be purchased through the Master 4-H Club. Tickets will not be on sale for nonCouncil delegates at State 4-H Council.

State 4-H Congress Foods Lab Competition and Deans Award Competition takes place before State 4-H Council and is not a part of this event. If a counselor is competing in one of these two activities he/she will attend those competitions only and return to their cabins and/or counselor activities.

Family and friends of camp counselors who are State 4-H Council delegates should not make arrangements to visit counselors in cabins during the Council weekend.
