State 4-H Council Iron Clover Competition

Iron Clover is a Georgia 4-H State Council Tradition. During Council several opportunities are available for districts to score points to earn the covetted Iron Clover. This year, in addition, to new activities, Iron Clover participation may be done online. When you enter the online site, you will see each Iron Clover event listed. Please select your first, second and third choice for the events you would most like to participate in. You may only have one first choice. You also have the option of selecting willing to participate. You may select as many "willing to participate" as you like. We will fill teams for each district for each event from this survey.

SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT- Teams are 5 boys/5 girls Each game is a maximum of 3 innings. There is a 10 run limit per inning. Slinging the bat is an automatic out. All batters & runners must wear shoes and the decision of the official is final. Any disputes with the official will cause for a district forfeit. If a district is up by 11 points at the close of the 2nd inning, the game is called.  Northwest vs Southeast (rd 1), Northeast vs Southwest (rd 2), loser rd 1 vs loser (rd 3-for 3 rd & 4th), winner 1 vs winner 2 (rd 4 for 1 st & 2nd) 

POOL RELAY 5 racers (no more than three of any gender)  Race may be adapted. This is an example of the skills that may be completed SHALLOW END—Player one fills the canteen without placing under the pool water & walks to their partner on the eagle symbol with a beach ball With the  beach ball & canteen & swims (no walking) to the wall and hands the canteen & beach ball to the third person. The third person holding the canteen pushes the beach ball without using their hands. The fourth person takes the canteen, empties it & then hits the beach ball to player five. Player five swims with the beach ball to the finish line. 

VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT— 6 delegates, may have one adult Northeast vs Southwest Southeast vs Northwest Loser round 1 plays loser round 2 for 3 rd & 4 th Winner round 1 plays winner round 2 for 1 st & 2 nd Six players play. Rotate for serve. Each game is 15 minutes. Ties will be broken with three minute over time. Officials are final 

Wii COMPETITION- 4 team members – can be youth or adults. Each district has four team members. Wii game will be drawn at random and from the team of four a competitor or team is selected for the contest. Wii contests may include but are not limited to bowling, homerunning hitters, boxing, wii fit skills, etc.  

 KNOWLEDGE BOWL- 4 youth Quiz bowl with questions relative to 4-H, science, engineering & technology. Each round will consist of a minimum of five toss up questions. Additionally, two team questions will be asked. Team questions may be discussed before answering. Toss up questions are worth 1 point, team questions are worth 2 points. Ties will be broken by three additional toss ups until a winner is named. Northeast versus Northwest Round One Southeast versus Southwest Round Two Loser Round One vs Loser Round Two for 3 rd and 4 th Winner Round One vs Winner Round Two for 1 st and 2 nd 

BINGO - 4 competitors, one may be an adult All competitors will be given one card. Caller will announce BINGO's styles. Play will proceed for 30 to 45 minutes at the discretion of the caller. 1 point is scored for each BINGO called. Winners will be determined by number of points earned by a district at the tournament. Ties will be broken by elimination games. An individual may play one card only. Cards may be traded in every 15 minutes. 
 
CANOE RACE- 3 youth, atleast one boy and one girl On go, all three canoers board canoe and paddle around the island to the sailing beach.   Beach the canoe and everyone out. Carry the canoe to point on land and return to beach. Reload and paddle back. Race ends with Canoe docked and all players out of the canoe. 

RELAY RACE - 4 competitors one adult is allowed but not required.  Racers begin with a crab crawl to the next racer. Second racer runs four times around a bat & runs to the next station. Third racer foot races uphill around and back down. Final racer eats three crackers and sings I'm a little teapot and sit down 

ROPE PULL- 4 boys, 4 girls Northwest versus Southeast round one Northeast versus Southwest round two Loser round one versus Loser round two for third and fourth Winner round one versus Winner round two for first and second

SCAVENGER HUNT-Teams of six with no more than three adults and atleast one male and one female will have clues to collect items around Rock Eagle.

COTTON EYE JOE A THON-Each district should have alteast 3 and no more than 6 dancers who will do the cotton eyed joe. Judges will tap out those who have "missed  a step" Last ones standing are winners.

You may also register to compete at State 4-H Council. However, district teams will be filled first come first serve from the preregistration site.
