Welcome to my Computer Project page, I hope it helps you out.
If you have a interest and enjoy working with Computers you should seriously consider competing in the Computer Project for DPA.
I have made this page to help you along the way. I have include a list of objectives found on the Ga 4-H web page along with some personal tips I've cam up with along the way and some useful links.
Objectives:
1. To develop leadership abilities, build character and assume citizenship responsibilities.
2. To develop an understanding of the basic principles and theories of computers.
3. To understand the important effects computers have on man and his environment.
4. To promote the knowledge of safe practices and procedures using computers.
5. To acquire knowledge regarding efficient utilization of computers in the home, school and industry.
6. To increase the awareness, concern and knowledge regarding computers and their use to transmit and receive information electronically.
7. To explore career opportunities with computers and industry.
NOTE:Computer(s) and computer equipment/programs may be used in the Computer project only and again the 4-H'er must furnish all of his/her equipment. Ideas:
The best thing to do is find something about computers that particularly interest you. Maybe you are really good at building web pages and want to talk about that or maybe you like working with computer hard ware and building your own computers. Pretty much anything that you do related to computers is a potential project idea. Here are a few specific ideas for your project:
Building a web page for your County 4-H club or and other community group your involved with (church, scouts, ball, etc.)
Restoring old computers or fixing broken machines.
Doing research online.
Helping with the computers at school.
Starting your own business based on computers.
Learning a language or specific skill about computers.
Teaching others how to use computers.
