The Georgia 4-H Centennial History Book will include one page of 4-H history
for each of Georgia's 159 counties as well as historical information of
the Georgia 4-H program as a whole. Individuals with photographs of interest
(or historical information) are encouraged to contact their local Extension
office to offer information for county submission.
General 4-H photographs can be submitted for inclusion in the book using
the guidelines listed below.

or color photograph submissions are permissable. Glossy photos should
be 4 x 6 or 5 x7. No photos smaller than 3 x 5 can be accepted.
If photos are
one of a kind photos, please make a copy prior to submission. Copies
should be professional reproductions and not copier (such as XEROX)

Newsclippings

film and submitted after developing. Color film will not reproduce
the photograph well.

have a serious disadvantage to actual photographs for publishing. If
you do send scanned or digital photos be sure the following criteria is

4 x 6 or 5 x 7 photos should be scanned at 250% and 8 x 10 at
100%

be RGB, CMYK or grayscale mode

the county name and image number (ie YOURcounty1, YOURcounty2, etc)
Label your
disk with the county name
Label
photos in pencil with your name, address and phone number. You
may opt to include this information on a self sticking note adhered to the
back of the photograph. DO NOT USE INK on the photographs.
Photo captions
should be included on self sticking notes. Captions should be thorough
and concise--not more than 50 words Interesting details and antedotes
are acceptable captions. Be sure to include who to attribute the
photo to if it is known. This includes the photographer as well as
the owner of the photograph. For example,
Matthew Brady photograph, 1964; from Eatonton Messenger.
Individuals submitting
several photographs may label the photographs with their name and a number.
A caption page may be handwritten or typed to correspond with the numbered
photos. Each individual will not need a label as above. Instead the
accompanying information is included on the caption page
If you would
like elements cropped out of the photo, use selfsticking note paper
on the back of the photograph to indicate who or what should be cropped out.
Also submit, a photocopy (copier is fine) with the indication of the croplines.

Service. A sample permission form is available (click here). Be sure to keep
one copy of the permission form for your files and submit the original with
your photographs. If the photographs are from your personal collection
please complete the permission form and return with the photographs.
