Competition Guidelines:To provide 4-H members enrolled in the 4-H Horse project an opportunity to exhibit their horses. To provide training in proper methods of exhibiting horses. To provide 4-H members with opportunities to exhibit knowledge of their horse project through demonstrations.
Eligibility:
All exhibitors must be enrolled in and carrying out a 4-H Horse project. Must have owned an animal a minimum of 90 days prior to date of the state show. Entries must be made on official entry form properly signed by 4-H member, parent, and Extension agent. See "Georgia 4-H Horse Show Regulations" and class descriptions for specific requirements. Order from State 4-H Office after January 1st each new year. This rule book supersedes all other rules. Members are not allowed to show without their county agent's signature on their entry form.
Awards & Recognition:
Ribbons awarded first through tenth place in all classes at the State Show.
Trophies, coolers, medals or other appropriate prizes will be awarded at the State 4-H Horse Show. Georgia will send 42 riders to the Southern Regional Horse Show. See official rule book for specific procedure. First place winners in the Horse Method Demonstration, Team Demonstration Contest and Public Speaking Contest at the State Horse Show will qualify for the Southern Regional Horse Championships; however, this does not qualify for Master 4-H status. A $400.00 scholarship will be awarded in the following: a. Senior Stock Seat Champion
Senior Division and Senior Scholarship winners will be eligible for Master 4-H'er status and to participate in the recognition of Special Events winners during State 4-H Congress. The Congress banquet meal and lodging will be provided for the winners; however, travel to and from Congress is not included
b. Senior Saddle Seat Champion
c. Senior Hunt Seat Champion
